Film Reviews

Popular Anthropology Magazine welcomes the submission of films for review. Please see the following guidelines below before sending us your material:

1.  All documentary and ethnographic films must be sent in DVD format.
2.  Films must be sent in a DVD case. Each case must provide the following information:

  • Title of the film
  • Director
  • Producer/Production Company
  • Year published
  • Languages and subtitles available
  • Length of film
3.  The price of the DVD and the name and address (including URL) of at least one store should be provided to inform our subscribers where they can  
purchase the film.
4.  Short clips of films will not be accepted; our reviewers must be able to watch the film in its entirety in order to review it. 
5.  Popular Anthropology Magazine cannot guarantee that your film will be reviewed. However, if your film has been selected for review, we may
ask that you provide a trailer to embed within the review. In addition, we may also request still images from the film or a high-quality .jpg of the 
director to accompany the review. Popular Anthropology Magazine publishes each issue as a Flash flip book, allowing us to incorporate audio and video
in addition to articles.
6.  Submissions will not be returned, and will become the property of Popular Anthropology Magazine.
